5 Bible Verses for When You're Stressed

Updated: Sep 17, 2019

Life can get stressful and can run us into the ground if we let it (coming from the girl who literally stressed herself sick last week). Luckily, we have a God that we can trust no matter what the circumstances and He will give us rest. I know it isn't easy to "stay calm and trust God" all the time, but bible verses like these can definitely be a good reminder of why we always should.

Take 5 minutes out of your day and pray through each verse, asking God to reveal what each of them means for you or how peace can be brought to your stress.

Philippians 4:6-7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Psalm 23

1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;

your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Matthew 6:25

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Matthew 6:27

"Can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

Romans 8:28

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

Psalm 3:3-4

But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.
