Remove the Distractions

Allowing stillness in your life is vital, but incredibly hard to do! With our to-do lists always growing and our responsibilities piling up, it can be difficult to make time to breathe. When we allow ourselves to be still we can reflect on what we are truly feeling and most importantly, hear what God has been trying to tell us. Truth is, God is ALWAYS trying to speak to you and show you His plans for you but if you're constantly on the go, it is hard to see or hear Him. Step out of traffic and take a look up.

Our hurry and worry are keeping us from seeing the sunrise of God in our lives

One of my favorite things to do is to watch a sunrise or sunset. I realized that the reason I love them so much is because I am completely still, it's just God and me. I am able to truly feel God in that moment in a way more intimate way. I can hear, see, and feel Him. Whenever I leave those moments, I feel spiritually full and am able to see God's hand in everything. What if you did something like this every day? Now, I don't know if sunsets or sunrises do the same for you, but in whichever way you love to be still, I advise you to do that.

"The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still." -Exodus 14:14

If I'm being honest, I still struggle with being still at times. I'll put too much pressure on myself and this causes me to put my tasks before spending time with God. Wow, that did not feel good to type, but if you struggle with this as well I want you to know you're not alone. If you find yourself doing this, remember that God still showers you with His grace and all He wants is for you to come to Him. His yoke is easy and His burden is light, cast ALL of your cares on Him (Matthew 11:30; 1 Peter 5:7). God wants to give us His peace and stillness, we just need to actually seek it. Take the pressure off of yourself, you were never meant to feel as if everything is up to you.

Stop running so busy that your hurry and worry are wilting your soul

Have you ever felt so burnt out that you actually feel it in your soul? This can present itself in many ways like irritability, isolation, anger and more. I've been there before, and it was not fun to be me or be around me. What's funny about that is it is the complete opposite of how God wants you to feel. He wants your soul to be so full of Him that it overflows in your life and to everyone around you. Breakthroughs happen through stillness, stop holding yourself back.
