My Favorite Scrubs & Masks

If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with skincare.  I’ve had a lot of people ask me what masks and scrubs I use on my skin, so I figured I might as well write a blog post about it!  Just like my skincare routine blog post, I only use skincare products with naturally derived ingredients and no harsh chemicals or fragrances.  DISCLAIMER: I have normal skin, and I get oily in my t-zone. Skin care products are not a "one size fits all".

I like to exfoliate about 3 times a week (usually before face masks), depending on how my skin is acting that week. For some people that may be really excessive, but that’s what works for my skin. I do face masks around 3 to 4 times a week, also depending on what I feel my skin needs that week. I usually like to do a mud mask twice a week with a hydrating mask in between.

My Favorite Exfoliating Scrubs:

The Creamy Face Scrub by Frank Body is one of my ride or die products. When I discovered Frank Body, it was honestly a dream come true. Two of my favorite things: organic skincare AND coffee?  I’ve never bought something so quick! I’ve been using this for years and I don’t plan on ever stopping, it’s just too good. This face scrub is a targeted exfoliator that detoxifies pores, fight breakouts and fades scars thanks to the blend of coffee, bamboo and walnut.

The Trader Joe’s Blueberry & Acai Facial Scrub is a product I discovered recently and I’ve loved it ever since. I used it one morning after falling asleep in my makeup (horrible, I know) and once I rinsed the scrub off, my skin felt incredibly soft. You would have never guessed I had just fallen asleep in my makeup!  For $6, it’s such an amazing product. What’s cool about this scrub, is that it’s not really the texture that does the exfoliating—it’s the alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs). There’s also oatmeal, shea butter, meadowfoam seed oil, and various plant extracts that are super moisturizing so your skin feels smooth and supple after.

My Favorite Mud Masks:

The Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask will seriously clean out your pores in 20 minutes. It’s honestly kind of intense because you’ll actually feel your face pulsing, but it’s so good.  I always notice a difference in my skin the next day when I use this mask. It will feel so much smoother and any breakout I have going on will be so much smaller and less noticeable. I mix this mask with apple cider vinegar “with the mother” and while it may not smell too great, it is the greatest combination for this mask.

I received a complimentary size of the Grace & Stella Mud Mask with my Black Friday order and I’m so glad that I did because it’s become a staple skincare product for me. Not only does the mask contain pure dead sea mud, but it also has shea butter, sunflower oil, aloe vera juice, vegetable glycerin, jojoba oil, and calendula oil. This mask is the best of both worlds to me because it cleans out my pores while hydrating it as well.

The Derma-nu Pure Dead Sea Mud Mask is definitely a great one as well. When I started using this mask along with their antioxidant mask, I noticed a huge difference in my skin. I also had a lot of people complimenting on how great my skin looked. This mask detoxifies, increases circulation of your skin, and improves the overall health of your skin. A great thing about this mask is that it already comes in a liquid form so you don’t have to worry about mixing a powder with apple cider vinegar. When I’m in a time crunch, this is definitely the more convenient option while still giving great results.

My Favorite Hydrating Mask:

The Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask has changed the game for my skin, especially when I’m traveling. Flying is extremely drying for your skin and right before a flight I’ll put this mask on. It soaks right into your skin without leaving any kind of color and doesn’t have to be rinsed off, so it’s perfect for days when I’m flying. I also love putting this mask on right before I go to bed. After I use this mask, my skin feels so refreshed, radiant, and supple.

My Favorite Sheet Mask:

The Grace & Stella Green Tea Facial Sheet Mask has recently become my favorite sheet masks. It is full of all of these amazing antioxidants that my skin desperately needs. The mask is made with active ingredients like Green Tea Extract, Aloe and Shea Butter that adds energy to my skin and helps smooth out any texture I have. I also feel that this mask is extremely moisturizing!
